Form 5 - Fellowship Afloat 2025

DAY 1

Day 1 on our journey to Fellowship Afloat began with us venturing onto the boat and finding our rooms to settle in. Once we were unpacked we then had a great, informative guided tour. We had no idea of the history of the boat. It was so interesting.

By this point we were starving and the chefs had cooked up a delicious pesto pasta and cake for dessert!

Afterwards, we started our duties of cleaning and tidying up and were ready for our next activity, kayaking.

The wind certainly made it tricky to navigate on the lagoon and we did have a few pile ups by the bank where the current had pushed us. However, through determination we powered through and really gained great skills and had a fabulous time on the lake.

Afterwards we returned back to the boat to warm up and have a delicious dinner.

Once we had finished and cleaned the plates and scrubbed the deck- we were set a challenge boys vs girls, to pick out the pieces of apple from syrup the quickest! It was close, but the boys won!

We then set off on our night walk where Mrs Dickinson had bought us glow sticks to wear, sadly it wasn't dark enough to see the full effects! We had a lovely walk on the sea wall watching the sunset and playing games.

Finally we returned back to the boat and had a comforting hot chocolate. We ended the evening by playing  board&card games and settled in for the night.

Day 2

Day 2 of Fellowship Afloat, was a beautiful, stunning sunny day. We started the day with a wholesome breakfast and first “Trinity challenge. Girls vs boys where they had to balance a cup of water on their head and race to the end without spilling. After a great giggle we were all eager to take on our first activity, archery.

We loved being able to have so many turns and in our final few targets we had to aim at the balloons which Mrs Dickinson managed to hit 4 balloons! We all really built up our skills and become much more confident with our aim-Mrs White also showed off her skills by hitting the bullseye multiple times! (She will be competing in the olympics in no time)

Our delicious lunch was to make our own sandwiches with the widest range of fillings to choose from followed by a delicious after eight flapjack.

Once our bellies were full we set off on the Powerboats. The water was choppy from the high winds but only added to the fun bumping up and down on the water. We had a pitstop on the water and were given hot chocolate plus a biscuit. We sang fun songs whilst bobbing on the water before heading back.

Finally we headed back for a comforting roast dinner and crumble. The next Trinity challenge was to drop an Egg from a standing height and land it in a cup - we all loved watching this! The staff then made a quiz which got very heated through everyone’s competitive nature but our teachers won.

We finished off the evening playing games and settling for the night. We really had so much fun today and so grateful to the staff at Fellowship Afloat for creating memories to last for a lifetime.
