Children from Form 5 and 6 competed in the annual Interhouse Hockey and Rugby tournaments, again in front of their parents. This is a highly competitive fixture and the children have been training all year to get to the level they displayed yesterday. Primary level hockey and rugby does not get much better than this. Skill, determination, fitness and sportsmanship were on display and we know our Form 6 children move on to their new schools at the highest possible sporting standards. We hope they keep us updated on their future achievements. The hockey tournament was so closely fought that it had to be decided by a shootout, Australia House emerging as 2021 MCPS Hockey Champions.
The rugby tournament was an enthralling encounter. Watching on was a retired Headteacher and rugby coach of The Perse School and Wellingborough School. He remarked to us afterwards that one of the tries scored yesterday was one of the finest displays of team work and determination he had see in many months. Parents will no doubt agree with his assessment of the standards of play. The 2021 Interhouse Rugby Champions are New Zealand House who clinched the title. Well done to all who took part.
